Our history
The firm was established in 1890 by William Robertshaw, who was later joined by Harry Myers in Keighley, West Yorkshire. Initially named Wm Robertshaw & Myers, the firm remained independent until 1988 when the partnership merged with KPMG. Robertshaw & Myers (R&M) was then reformed in 1992 by Stephen Chapman, David Hodgson and Michael Bottomley.
As part of our expansion programme, the practice moved from Keighley, West Yorkshire to modern, purpose built business premises in the attractive Dales market town of Skipton, North Yorkshire in December 1999.
In 2002, the firm established a corporate finance department, RM Corporate, which has continued to grow and expand.
In December 2008, we set up Robertshaw Myers Financial Solutions Limited to offer a complete range of independent financial advice.
Following this expansion, we service a wide client base in West and North Yorkshire, East Lancashire, the Midlands and the North East, as well as having the resources and expertise to service clients throughout the UK and internationally.
On 1 August 2010, we made the rather subtle change to Robertshaw Myers.
Despite all the changes that have occurred in our own business and identity, one thing has remained constant – our commitment to our clients. As a result, we have a large number of clients for whom we have acted and advised throughout the generations.
