Michael Bottomley (Managing Partner)
Michael started his career with R&M, qualifying in 1979 and becoming a partner in 1984. Since 2004, Michael has been the Managing Partner. Michael is the R&M specialist on VAT and related problems, and is also the firm's investment business compliance partner. He is involved in corporate audits and other regulated work, consultancy, management accounts and IT and has particular experience in service sector including recruitment consultants. Michael is also involved in the firms graduate and professional recruitment program.
Phil Bailey
Phil spent most of his early career with KPMG, qualifying in 1980 and becoming a partner in 1989. He specialises in corporate finance, including acquisition search and advisory, company disposals, MBO/MBI transactions, fundraising and corporate restructuring. After a period responsible for the acquisition activity of a private investment group, Phil joined R&M in 2001 as partner in charge of the development of the corporate finance practice, including the expansion of the strategic planning services and business advisory and consultancy products.
Trevor Lodge
Trevor qualified in 1971, and subsequently became a partner in an international firm of Chartered Accountants. He joined R&M in 1996, and in addition to regulatory audit work, specialises in the requirements of family business, share valuations, and has been the partner responsible for the establishment of several Enterprise Management Incentive Schemes on behalf of clients.
David Richmond
David qualified in 1987 with a medium-sized practice and joined R&M on its re-formation from a national practice in 1992. David became a partner in 1997 and specialises in the provision of audit, accountancy and related services for "owner-managed" businesses. He offers ongoing strategic advice and the preparation of management accounts, together with company formation and company secretarial advice. David is involved in the firm's regulated work for solicitors. In addition, David is the staff partner at R&M, responsible for the recruitment of members of the accounting and audit teams.
Andrew Mitchell
Andrew joined R&M in 1992, and has been the firm's tax partner since 1996. His early career was spent in the Inland Revenue where he qualified as an Inspector of Taxes. Andrew now deals with HM Revenue & Customs enquiries from the other side of the fence providing a valuable service to clients and utilises the experience gained whilst with HM Revenue & Customs to advise on corporate tax matters. Andrew's areas of specialization include corporate and business tax planning for family owned companies, exit planning for individuals and the provision of tax planning advice for High Net Worth Individuals.
